Golden raisins are dried seedless grapes. When the grapes are dehydrated, they crinkle into raisins containing less water and more concentrated nutrients and sugars. Golden raisins are golden (rather than the brown of regular raisins) due to the drying process.
Golden raisins have more flavonoids—phytonutrients found in plants that give them their colour and have antioxidant properties—than regular raisins. Otherwise, however, golden and regular raisins are almost exactly identical in their health properties—and both make a healthy snack, just as they did in your lunch box back in the day.

All golden raisins use canola oil to retain shine on the fruit and keep them easy to separate. Sulphur dioxide is used as a preservative.
